The Indian Tea is well known and appreciated for it's unique taste and warmness. Simply known as "Chai", tea is the most essential part of almost everyone's daily life. It is the most admired drink all over India. India is believed to be the biggest producer of tea across the world. You will find numerous global tea brands and thus India proves to be the most equipped tea industries worldwide.
India consists of several tea plantations. It starts from the valley in Assam and Darjeeling in the north-east and continues to the south-western regions of the country in the Nilgiris hills. Every tea producing regions in India have their own unique and distinct taste. You will come across with plenty of tea varieties like black tea, green tea, white tea or organic tea.
In this article, we are going to discuss some of the common tea regions of India.
Assam Tea: Assam tea is generally produced from the plant known as"Camellia sinensis var.assamica". The tea is well known for it's briskness, malty flavor and bright color. However, Assam region is quite popular for the plantation of black teas, you can also find other kinds of green or white teas as well
Nilgiri Tea: Nilgiri tea is generally distinguished for it's dark or strong aromatic flavor. This palatable tea is planted in the southern portion of Western Ghats mountains of Southern India. The tea is normally cultivated in the hills of the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. This kind of teas are usually mild, bright, brisk with light flavors.
Darjeeling Tea: Darjeeling tea is universally acknowledged tea because of its unique flavor which cannot be replicated. The tea is produced from a very small-leaved Chinese kind of Camellia sinensis var, sinensis. It is the costliest tea in the world and thus known to be the Champagne of teas.
Indian tea has grown and occupies a vital place in the international beverage market. It has also been the blenders choice for over 100 years for its best quality as well as reliability.
Thus the Indian tea is the most exotic teas in the world, consumed by millions of people worldwide.
