The New Year is always a time to party and there are some great destinations to visit during the cold winter months. Whether you want hot sunshine or a cultural city break, there is somewhere for you. The first few months of the year can also be a lot cheaper than going on holiday later on in the year.
USA.

For those who want to travel outside of the EU, then America would be perfect. Miami and Orlando in Florida are perfect for this time of year, as most children will be back at school making Disneyworld and the theme parks not as busy as normal. Miami is also perfect for couples and groups of friends, as the city is well known for its great nightlife and world class beaches. So you can relax in the day and go out and enjoy yourself at night. Las Vegas is also another hotspot for New Year travel, with most people flying out before New Year's Eve. With great nightlife and world renowned attractions, Las Vegas is the ultimate destination for fun in the sun.

Another American destination popular with New Year travellers is New York. A great place for a three-day break and perfect for a girlie weekend; you can visit all the sights, shop in the post-Christmas sales and enjoy the New York nightlife made famous films and televisions shows like Sex and the City.
Europe

If the USA isn't for you, then a city break to one of Europe's best cities maybe for you. Whether you are going as a group or as a couple, there is something for everyone. Top destinations are Paris, Prague, Berlin and Rome.
Paris and Rome are perfect for couples who want a romantic weekend, with wonderful galleries and shops to keep you entertained. There are some of the best restaurants in world located in Paris and Rome, with both cities steeped in a wondrous history that is great to explore. World-famous sights in Paris such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre attract tourists from all over the globe and are must-see sights when you visit the French capital. Prague is also becoming more and more popular with couples. Top sights to see are the Astronomical clock, Prague castle and St Vitus Cathedral, while both the old and new town offer great sightseeing trips and many streets to explore.

Berlin is also a top spot to visit with Berlin Zoo one of the best in the world and it is very simple to make a hotel reservation to ensure you get the right accommodation for yourself. Also the Reichstag and the memorial church are steeped in history and are always top of visitor's wish lists. German cuisine is a must-try, with some dishes unlike anything you may have tried before.
