There are many types of caravan holidays to be had in the UK. Caravan ownership can range from static caravans, luxury lodges or cabins to towable vans and mobile homes which can be taken all over the country.

Caravan ownership can improve your quality of your holidays and make the most of your leisure time, give you time to spend with your friends and family and enjoy the great outdoors. It also enables you to visit and see other parts of our country you may not normally visit. As air travel becomes more expensive and unpredictable, caravanning helps us re discover our own attractions.

Owning a caravan means you can holiday whenever you like as well - take long weekends away, as well as your regular one or two week summer holiday. People use caravans as a means of getting away from the stresses and strains of life, you wake up, open your door and you have fresh air and countryside.

Holidaying in the UK doesn't always mean you are restricted by our unpredictable weather - caravan parks and sites have plentiful facilities and activites for both adults and children and more than often dogs are welcome too! Children enjoy the excitement of camping and at the parks they can make friends, get plenty of exercise try new activites and most of all spend quality time with the family. Camping and caravanning is not just a summer activity either. October half-term breaks are really popular and even Christmas is picking up. Families take their bikes, their walking boots and go any time of the year. It is a great opportunity to eat local food and visit local attractions.

Buying and owning a holiday home can be cheaper than you may think. Holiday homes for sale in the UK range from £15,000 to £200,000 but you can start with tents for under £100. Renting pitches costs roughly £10-£25 a night. You can also hire them for a week or more, much like a holiday cottage, but less expensive.

Caravan parks are graded using a star grading scheme, providing independent annual inspection of park facilities, cleanliness, service, play areas and leisure facilities:-

One star: simple, practical, no frills.
Two stars: well-presented and well-run.
Three stars: good level of quality and comfort.
Four stars: excellent standard.
Five stars: exceptional, with a degree of luxury.
Most parks are in three to five star category,

Caravanning is the most popular holiday of choice in this country and thanks to modern technology the new static caravans for sale today contain home comforts such as double glazing, heating, en suite bathrooms, pitched roofs, power showers, fitted kitchens and wireless internet etc. Towing caravans is much easier too - power steering, traction control and better cars.

There are a great many locations to choose from, with roughly 1,400 parks in England, across every rural corner. They come in all types and sizes, from the small ones offering the simple pleasures of the countryside to huge places with pools, spas, golf courses and a multitude of family entertainment.
